Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant Celebrates the Dragon Boat Festival with Two New Handcrafted Gourmet Rice Dumplings

From 1 to 19 June 2026, diners can look forward to Cantonese-style rice dumplings handcrafted with luxurious, seasonal ingredients from the award-winning Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel.
A testament to refined Cantonese craftsmanship, the new Cantonese Style Honey-Glazed Pork Char Siew Rice Dumpling ($18) reimagines a beloved Singaporean classic. Distinctively shaped into a four-sided pyramid, the dumpling features pork char siew that has been marinated for two days, gently braised, then roasted at high heat to achieve a caramelised sheen. The tender pork char siew is then enveloped in spring onion-infused glutinous rice with Hong Kong liver sausage, red bean and salted egg yolk, while braised soybeans with a touch of maltose add a subtle, nutty balance to the savoury richness.
The new White Pepper Crab with Scallop & Brazilian Mushroom Rice Dumpling ($25) combines premium crab meat, succulent scallops, prized Brazilian mushrooms, in a velvety white pepper sauce. Encased in glutinous rice, the luxurious filling takes centre stage, delivering a rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying bite, making this elevated culinary creation unforgettable.
Known as the queen of all rice dumplings, the South African Abalone with Karasumi & Iberico Pork Rice Dumpling ($28) is the pinnacle of indulgence. Featuring tender South African abalone, Iberico pork and rare karasumi (dried mullet roe) prized for its briny, umami-rich depth reminiscent of fine caviar, each bite delivers layers of exceptional, decadent flavours.
Experience the finest of traditional flavours with the well-loved Signature Pork & Salted Egg Rice Dumpling ($19). Picture premium pork marinated for over 24 hours in house-made five-spice powder and Chinese wine, combined with salted egg yolk, mushroom, green bean and chestnut, all wrapped in soft glutinous rice. There’s a reason why this traditional dumpling flavour has withstood the test of time.
For a healthy yet indulgent treat, go for the Cordycep Flower & Purple Glutinous Rice Dumpling ($18) which features a nutritious blend of quinoa, purple glutinous rice, cordycep flower, king mushroom, green bean, peanut, carrot, turnip and a hint of black truffle paste. Slowly poached for two to three hours, it is an ideal vegetarian option.
